SIRA – the Italian Society for Architectural Restoration – is a scientific society whose mission is to expand and develop the culture of preservation and restoration in Italy and abroad, with particular reference to cultural and landscape heritage. It promotes the study and development of heritage in a scientific, academic, civil and educational context.
It is made up of university professors and researchers working in the scientific disciplinary sector of Restoration (ICAR 19). It is also open to Italian and foreign scholars and operators who are recognised as having an important role in the field of restoration and the protection of cultural and landscape heritage.
This portal aims to expand and promote scientific initiatives in preservation and architectural restoration; to explain the current situation of university research being conducted, including doctorates, research fellowships and specialisation theses and to offer a collection of personal profiles of its members. The site also intends to provide up to date information on education, research projects and any calls for funding proposals, on competitions and scholarships linked to the topics of architectural preservation and on trade journal, publications, conferences and workshops.
The web site can be visited freely by the public.
